Organizations in the past have used this opportunity to do fundraising either through selling food or merchandise or by having an activity set up for event goers. As in previous years, the event will be held at Barstow Park from 6 p.m. to dark, followed by fireworks. Entertainment options will include music and an activity area for kids with games and inflatables. This Weeks Happenings! • The State Garden Club Convention is Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6 at the Trinity Lutheran Askland Lounge and Fellowship Hall. • Missouri River Water Trail Kickoff Event is Saturday, June 6. Join area river enthusiasts for an outing on the Missouri River to showcase the development of the new water trail. The route will be from Mulberry Bend near the Newcastle-Vermillion Bridge to Bolton (Chaney's Landing) near Burbank. This show is a collaborative effort between the Vermillion Community Theatre and the Children's Theatre Company of South Dakota and features 50 local young actors.
