Driver license
fees will change The South Dakota Department of Public Safety is reminding South Dakotans that beginning July 1, the fees for South Dakota driver licenses and commercial driver licenses are changing. After June 30, a South Dakota driver license and a South Dakota ID card will cost $20 instead of the current $8; a South Dakota commercial driver license will cost $25 instead of the current $15. Senate Bill 32, which will become law on July 1, requires the increased fees.
