Janice L. Miller Janice L. Miller, 71, of Vermillion, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Sanford Vermillion Hospital. Janice Andre was born March 13, 1938 in Vermillion to Elmer and Margaret (Clark) Andre; she graduated from Meckling High School in 1956, and attended South Dakota State University graduating with a bachelors degree in home economic education and a minor in biology. Janice married Clifford Miller on June 3, 1961 in Meckling, and they farmed in the area, and Janice worked as a seamstress for Buhl's Laundry in Yankton, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Rebecca's, Norway Neighbor's Extension Club and the Bergen Lutheran Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford in 1998; and an infant sister, Margaret Elaine Andre. She is survived by her two sons, Carlton of Meckling and Jason (Sarah) of Gayville; and two daughters, Michelle (Michael) Hauck of Vermillion, and Celeste (Joseph) Brantolino of Lenoir, NC. She is also survived by two brothers, William Andre of Sioux City, IA and Robert (Wanda) Andre of Mapleton, IA; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Phillip and Nicole Hauck, Ryan and Joseph Brantolino, and Andrea Miller. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at the Bergen Lutheran Church, rural Meckling, with burial in the Danish Cemetery, rural Gayville. Visitation began at 5 p.m. Friday, June 19 with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.
