Health specialist speaks on
environment and impact on health On Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. in the W.H.Over Museum, Dr. Donna Wong-Gibbons will speak about the impact of coal, environmental degradation and industrial practices on human health. Dr. Wong-Gibbons is a public health specialist and serves as the director of the Iowa Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, an organization of over 60,000 pediatricians committed to promoting optimal health of infants, adolescents and young adults. Her goal is provide education and information to individuals and communities with the hope that it will help them make more informed decisions. Her research experience at the University of Iowa also includes public health and epidemiology training focusing on the role of environmental and behavioral factors in birth defects.
