Highway chip seal
projects scheduled The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will be chip sealing a 14.6 mile section of SD Highway 50 from the intersection of US 81 west to the city of Tabor and a 12.3 mile section of SD Highway 52 from the intersection of SD Highway 50 west to SD Highway 37. The chip seal is scheduled to begin on July 13 and be completed by July 24, weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one lane. A short delay can be expected while traveling through the work area. Loose gravel will be present for a period of 36 to 72 hours after each day's chip seal application. Traffic should travel at 40 MPH during this time frame. The permanent pavement marking is scheduled to be applied within 14 days of completion of the chip seal.
