NEWS BULLETIN: Yankton teen killed, two injured in early morning accident near Meckling A 17-year-old Yankton teen was killed early Monday in a two-vehicle accident near Meckling. Jacob Patrick Adamson died in the fatal crash, which occurred on Highway 50 near Meckling at approximately 5 a.m. Monday, according to a release from the Clay County Sheriff��?s Office. According to the sheriff��?s office and the South Dakota Highway Patrol, officers and rescue personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash resulting in a rollover of one of the vehicles. Both vehicles were westbound on South Dakota Highway 50 near Meckling when they collided. Both vehicles were driven by Yankton teenagers. The vehicle that rolled over was driven by Adamson, and the second vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old Yankton female. Adamson was transported to Sanford Hospital in Vermillion where he was pronounced dead. The 16-year-old female driver of the second vehicle and a 17-year-old female passenger in the rollover vehicle were transported to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Both girls received injuries that were considered not life-threatening. This accident is still under investigation.
