Program provides
transportation assistance The Rural Office of Community Services in Lake Andes has a program available to provide public transportation assistance to low income individuals and families. Qualified applicants can receive pre-paid passes for local public transportation for rides to work, day care, school, church, errands or appointments. There is no age guideline or limit. In order to qualify for this program, a household's income must be at or below 125 percent of the Federal Income Guidelines. Maximum income guidelines at 125 percent are as follows. 1 person household – $13,538; 2 person – $18,213; 3 person – $22,888; 4 person – $27,563; 5 person – $32,238; 6 person – $36,913; 7 person – $41,588; 8 person – $46,263. Over 8 in the household, add $4,675. Counties included in this project are Aurora, Bon Homme, Brule, Buffalo, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hutchinson, Hanson, Jerauld, Jones, Lyman, Mellette, Sanborn, Tripp, Todd, Union and Yankton.
