Rockets red glare

Rockets red glare Following a day filled with activities at the city swimming pool, and the annual Eagles Club Duck Regatta down the Vermillion River, people from the Vermillion area gathered at Barstow Park at 6 p.m. Saturday to celebrate Independence Day. There were inflatables for the kids, face painting and other activities, food vendors,  and a hot dog eating championship sponsored by Hy-Vee. The celebration ended with a beautiful fireworks display by Tom Taylor and Dennis Anderson of Fireworks Unlimited. See more photos of Saturday's celebration at spotted.yankton.net.
