Rockin��? RibFest 2009 to be held
in historic downtown Yankton Historic Downtown Yankton, Inc. and the Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce invite you to attend the third annual Rockin' RibFest, Saturday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., at 3rd and Walnut streets in the historic downtown district. Festivities will include an amateur ribbers contest, children's activities, food vendors and a free classic rock concert provided by several local area bands. Applications are being accepted for the amateur ribber contest. Applications are available online at www.downtownyankton.com or by calling 605-260-3003. Modified rules of the Kansas City Barbeque are being used for the contest. First place winners will receive $400 prize money, second place will receive $300 prize money and third place will receive $200 prize money. Individuals or teams can participate for an application fee of $50 per team of one or more. Several area food vendors will be providing cuisine. Downtown eateries and businesses will be open for customers. Children activities will include a free inflatable play area, face painting, tattoos and sno-cones.
