H-Worth Open donates over $8,600 The Clay County EMS Department has now received over $8,600 from proceeds from the H-Worth Open golf tournaments in memory of Matthew. Jeremi and Tim are the founders of this tournament and the EMS was chosen to receive the proceeds not only in Matt's memory but in Michael Groves, Matthew's cousin, who was also killed in a car accident seven weeks before Matt. Matthew and Michael's deaths accounted for two of the seven fatalities on Clay County roads in 2003, which is the highest fatality rate on Clay County roads ever. To show our gratitude for the work the EMS department does we thought it appropriate to give to them. The money has been used for many items and training opportunities for the department. Pictured above are Jeremi Cowman, Lee Huber, Tim Russell and Aaron Leesch. It's really a good feeling knowing that Matthew's life still continues to make a difference!
