Split format On Aug. 11, two teams of three played match play from the red tees and the victorious team was Ken Beringer, Gene Iverson and Louie Fostvedt. The other seven teams of three played from the white tees in a format of score against score. The best score was a 36 carded by Mo Marcotte, Dick Gregory and Jack Doyle. The second place with another 36 was the team of Vern Holter, Rex Huska and Jim Reed. A long 66-foot birdie putt was made on hole #8 by Jim Reed. Taking third place with the score of 36, while applying the handicap hole rule, was the team of Van Pierce, Rod Tieman and Pat Boyle. Van Pierce delighted his partners with a 15-foot birdie putt on #2. The fourth place went to the team of Guy Button, Harlan Schott and Dick Kellogg with a 37. A 21-foot birdie putt by Schott on #2 helped secure fourth position for this team.
