Spirit Mound
hike is Aug. 25 In 1804, Lewis and Clark climbed to the summit of the unique landform known as Spirit Mound and "beheld a most beautiful landscape".  Over 200 years later, you can do the same.  A walk to the top of the mound will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the prairie and its wildlife residences along the way.  Please call (605) 232-0873 to pre-register. Spirit Mound is locate six miles north of Vermillion on Hwy 19.
