Building a straw bale house

Rick Johns, Vermillion owner of Constructed Concepts, will give a presentation on the design and building process of a recently completed straw bale home at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at the W.H. Over Museum, 1110 Ratingen St., Vermillion. 

Mr. Johns will discuss selecting the right bales, plans and permits, load-bearing bale walls (Nebraska Style) and finishing elements for outside and inside walls. A slide show of the process from beginning construction to completion will accompany the presentation.
