Hospitality welcomed

To the editor:

I would like to thank the people of Yankton County for the hospitality they extended to Erik Nelson, staff assistant in my Sioux Falls office, during his recent Economic Development Outreach Day visit in the area.  Erik gave me greater insight into the important issues of Yankton County communities.

Erik had the opportunity to meet with a variety of business and community leaders during his day in Yankton.  He also attended the Project MIDY groundbreaking ceremony in Yankton, and had the pleasure of meeting with various officials from school, town and county organizations. Erik enjoyed discussing important issues with some of Yankton County's leaders and looks forward to returning very soon.

Having my staff conduct Economic Development Days helps me assess the resources available in local communities, as well as identify potential areas of growth and long-term development.

Each community faces unique challenges and opportunities for progress, and looking at local trends helps me focus on the things I can do in Washington to better serve the Main Street business community in South Dakota.

As always, if there are any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my Sioux Falls office at 605-332-8896 or toll free at 1-800-537-0025.
