Ashley and Paige Holmes, granddaughters of P.K. and Roger Holmes of Vermillion, met with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley during a visit to Washington, DC.
"I enjoyed meeting with Ashley and Paige," Grassley said. "I encourage young people to take the opportunity to visit Washington and meet with our nation's political leaders and policy makers."
Ashley, a sophomore, and Paige, an eighth-grader, reside in Elberon, IA, and attend the Benton Community School District. They were visiting Washington, DC to observe their aunt's admittance to the bar of the U. S. Supreme Court. Their grandmother, P.K., also accompanied the sisters on the visit.
Meeting with young people has been a priority for Grassley throughout his career in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. He enjoys meeting with nearly 60 groups of students every year.
