David Allan Myron, 61, of Vermillion, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, by natural causes at his residence.
David was born on Oct. 12, 1947 in Vermillion to Warren and Helen (Brown) Myron. He attended Vermillion schools and received his GED diploma from high school in Frankfurt, Germany. He served in the Army (SP4) from 1969 – 1973, spending most of 1970 in Vietnam. He worked at the University of South Dakota for 19 years as building maintenance leader worker. David was a member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Vermillion.
He is survived by his children; Amy Myron and Paige Myron, both of Vermillion, and Troy (Dana) Myron of Denison, IA; his father Warren Myron of Vermillion; his brothers & sister-in-law, Keith Myron and Craig (Darlis) Myron, all of Vermillion; his sisters, Lynn Myron of Vermillion and Julie Stephens and her special friend, Tom Myers of Sioux Falls; two grandsons, Andrew Myron of Vermillion and Drake Myron of Denison, IA; 10 nieces, two nephews, six great-nieces, and four grand-nephews.
David is preceded in death by his mother Helen Myron.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion with Rev. Ed Anderson officiating. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial was in BluffView Cemetery with military honors conducted by Vermillion V.F.W. Clay Co. Post #3061.
