"A Love of Three Oranges: The Works of Mary Selvig and Martin Wanserski", opens Nov. 12 and runs through Dec. 12 at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery. An artists' opening reception will be held Friday, Nov. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mary Selvig, a long-standing member of the Sioux Falls and regional art scene, is most known for her ceramics. She experiments with surface textures in her smoke-fired porcelains, including post-firing additions, from gold leaf to found twigs and other natural objects. In addition to some of her most recent ceramics, Selvig will also exhibit recent watercolors and bronze sculptures.
Martin Wanserski is a University of South Dakota professor emeritus, having taught sculpture there from 1975 to 2008. His work has been widely exhibited and collected, with numerous public commissions. One of his most recent commissions includes the portrait of Helen McKennan, now installed in Sioux Falls' historic McKennan Park. Wanserski will present a selection of his wide-ranging sculptures and drawings.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed Sunday.
