Girl Scouts donate to Heartland Humane Society

Heartland Humane Society recently received donated items from two Girl Scouts from Troop 50158, including handmade dipped bone treats and warm fleece blankets. Maddy Nooney and Nichole Eilers chose Heartland Humane Society to work with as part of earning their Bronze Awards with their Girl Scout group.

"The girls did such a good job," said Tasha Anderson, executive director at Heartland Humane Society. "The blankets are great for the animals' kennels, and the dipped bones will be the perfect gift for participants in our Pawsitively Purrfect Christmas Photos. It's such a treat!"

If your group is interested in doing a similar project for the shelter, contact Tasha Anderson at 605-664-4244 or email You can see first hand the tasty treats and blankets at the holiday photos going on Nov. 13-15 at the shelter at 601 1/2 Burleigh Street in Yankton.
