Roy Leonard Fallan, 92, of Vermillion, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, Nov. 13, 2009 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center, Vermillion.
He was born Aug. 20, 1917 in Vermillion, the son of late Martin and Alberta (Johansen) Fallan. He farmed most of his life and he also was a foreman at Barnes Hay Mill. He married Elda Hanson on April 28, 1938 in Yankton. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 1998. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Clarene (Larry) Meins and Mary (Richard) Muecke both of Vermillion; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Alberta Fallan, his wife, Elda (Hanson) Fallan, his daughter, Rosella Fallan, his granddaughter, Ashley Meins, and five sisters.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Iverson-Siecke-Kober Funeral Home, Vermillion with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion with Rev. Ed Anderson officiating.
Burial was in Trinity (Danish) Cemetery, rural Gayville.
