‘Akeelah and the Bee’ featured at library

Akeelah and the Bee is the next featured selection for the February Film Festival.  The film will be shown on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Vermillion Public Library.  Hot drinks and popcorn will be provided.

This month's film festival provides time for reflection on the significance of Black History Month.  Akeelah, an 11-year-old black girl, with a love for words and the help of the whole neighborhood, makes it to the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C.
