Kristen Schwasinger and Cole Andre were selected as the Vermillion
High School Students of the Month for December. As a result of their efforts, these two seniors will receive a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust-Vermillion.
Schwasinger "has been an excellent student," according to her faculty recommendation. "She will be very successful as she pursues a career." Her education plans are to attend Wayne State College in Wayne, NE to study accounting.
Her high school activities included golf, Show Choir, National Honor Society, and basketball. She attended the Youth Business Adventure and was named the Best Accounting Student at VHS. Her parents are Tim and Patty Schwasinger.
Andre plans to attend the University of South Dakota with a pre-med intention. He was involved with S.A.D.D., Concert Choir, golf and basketball. He was selected for the Governor's Young Leader Luncheon and he received the Most Improved Awards for golf and basketball
"Cole does a great job of embracing the class topic and contributing meaningful thoughts." His endorsement went on to say that "he demonstrates the ability to help others especially the younger students around him." Kent and Cathy Andre are his parents.
