The Centerville Community Arts Council is pleased to present the musical Guys and Dolls Thursday, March 25 and Friday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the Centerville School Gold Gym. Tickets will be available at the door, $8 adults and $5 students.
Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls has been described as the perfect musical comedy. The storyline includes the unlikely romance between an innocent urban missionary and a slick gambler, along with the romance between a crap-gang organizer and nightclub dancer who have been engaged for 14 years. Other colorful characters include a gang of gamblers (Nicely-Nicely, Benny Southstreet, Harry the Horse, Rusty Charlie, Liver Lips Louie, Angie the Ox and Big Jule). The musical score includes Luck be a Lady, Sue Me, I'll Know When My Love Comes Along, A Bushel and a Peck, and Guys and Dolls.
Guys and Dolls is presented with special arrangements from Music Theatre International, New York. For more information contact Deb Diercks, 605-563-2780.
