Clay Rural Water System schedules annual meeting

The Clay Rural Water System will hold its 31st annual meeting on Saturday March 27, in Vermillion.

The meeting will be held at the St. Agnes School Auditorium, located at 416 Walker Street, two blocks south of the Sanford Vermillion Hospital. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the business meeting scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.

Members will hear reports from the board of directors and staff on 2010 operating activities. Results of the board of directors district elections will be announced. A representative from the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems will also speak on rural water activities in the state. A special presentation will be given on the history of the water system – commemorating its 35th anniversary.

A pork loin lunch will be served following the meeting at 12 noon.

The Clay Rural Water System is a non-profit, member-owned corporation that supplies water service to 2,100 farms, residents, and businesses in parts of five counties in southeast South Dakota. Organized in 1975, the water system has been operational since 1979. Water service is also provided to the towns of Wakonda and Gayville.
