Vermillion High School to host blood drive

Community Blood Bank's bloodmobile will be holding a blood drive on Wednesday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Vermillion High School. Residents will have an opportunity to donate blood, save lives and help maintain an adequate blood supply for the community.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weight 110 pounds or more and be in good general health. Please bring an ID with you. The donation process only takes 20-25 minutes on the bloodmobile. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood. A person can safely donate whole blood every 56 days.

Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products for Sanford Vermillion Hospital, Avera McKennan, Sanford UMC Medical Center, VA Medical Center, Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota, and 25 other local hospitals. Walk-ins are always welcome.
