Bonnie Rowland at Raziel's in downtown Vermillion invites local citizens to help save lives.
Any day in May, every day in May, people may help Domestic Violence Safe Options Services (DV SOS) help those in distress by having a meal at Raziel's Restaurant, 13 West Main Street in downtown Vermillion. During the entire month of May, Raziel's is donating 5 percent of the sale of every meal. People's patronage will help DV SOS continue to provide confidential, life saving services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Bonnie asked, "If Domestic Violence Safe Options Services were no longer able to serve victims…what would happen to those families who rely on DV SOS for help?"
Without this organization, she has been told, many families and individuals in Vermillion and surrounding counties would not have easy access to a safe place to stay, transportation, food, clothing, or someone to talk to about what they are experiencing.
"DV SOS counts on the support of the communities in Clay, Union and Turner counties to help provide the necessary tools to aid a victim escaping a violent situation get to safety," Bonnie said.
