Kayla Munger and Patrick Haught were selected as the Vermillion High School February Students of the Month. Their academic and extra-curricular achievements are being recognized through a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust-Vermillion.
Munger "has been a wonderful senior leader this year," according to her faculty endorsement. "She has a love for music and a great work ethic." She plans to pursue a degree in pharmacy at college.
Her activities include tennis, Student Council, track, basketball, Show Choir and National Honor Society. She has been selected for All-State in both softball and chorus. Her parents are Scott and Jill Munger.
Haught has been involved in golf, tennis, Student Council, National Honor Society and SADD. He was a Boys State delegate and a Regent Scholar. His parents are Rick Haught and Maureen Cashin.
"Pat is a very mature and focused young man who works well with both students and teachers," as written by his instructor. "In class, he is always willing to help fellow classmates and volunteers during classroom activities." He plans to attend the University of Minnesota for a major in education psychology.
