Yuan Mei of Vermillion graduated magna cum laude May 15 from Rice University. Mei received a bachelor of arts in cognitive sciences and psychology. Located in Houston, Rice University is consistently ranked one of America's best teaching and research universities. Rice will celebrate its centennial year in 2012.

The 43rd annual Lake Area Technical Institute graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 14, with 508graduates receiving their diplomas.  Justin A. Mockler, Vermillion, received his diploma with a major in diesel technology.
