The Vermillion Special Olympics (school age) wrapped up the year with a trip to Sioux Falls for the State swimming meet and track and field competition, from May 20-22. The team attended the opening ceremonies dressed in togas to represent the first Olympic games! Because of their spirit and enthusiasm, the team was awarded the "Banner Competition/Spirit Award" and took home the traveling trophy for the second year in a row. There were nine school age athletes that participated and brought home metals! The athletes trained hard and watched their accomplishments pay off on the awards stand with the following results:
