Julie Kaye (Kopping) Hoxeng, 53, of Volin, passed away on June 22, 2010, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer.
Memorial services were 12 p.m., Saturday, June 26, at Trondhjem Lutheran Church, Volin. Burial followed in Zion Cemetery, rural Volin.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1957 to Vivian (Van Anda) and Frank Kopping, Jr. in Viborg. While growing up on their farm near Wakonda, there wasn't a kitten on the farm that didn't have a name or a doll dress on it. She graduated from Wakonda Public School in 1975. She married Terry Lee Hoxeng on Feb. 28, 1976 and had two children. She worked at the bank in Volin, then First National Bank South Dakota in Yankton. She was very involved with her children's school activities as well as being involved with the Volin First Responders.
Julie was also a volunteer for the Relay For Life in Yankton. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. She loved every moment she could get with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; her son, Brian (Heather) Hoxeng; her daughter, Amber (Jon) Sorensen; mother, Vivian Kopping; uncle, Willis Van Anda, brother, Rodney Kopping; sister, Carolyn (Dale) Nelsen and three grandchildren, Wyatt, Alex and Savanna; along with all the people she has touched in her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kopping, Jr; father-in-law Warren Dale Hoxeng and her grandparents.
