On July 13, playing an ordinary scramble format, the best score of 33 was turned in by the team of Dennis Tomhave, Fritz Bartels and Lloyd Helseth.
Taking second with the better 36 were Dennis Bruce, Dave Zimmer and Dick Gregory. At third with the other 36 was the team of Morris Marcotte, Sid Davis and Guy Button. Capturing fourth with a 37 was Turk Pilker, Bob Lund and Joe Conroy.
There were a couple of remarkable putts turned in by non-winning team members. Max Anderson sank a 39-foot birdie putt on #11, while Dick Kellogg dropped a 39-foot par putt on #18. Sid Davis made a 10-foot birdie putt on #14, but that was not the tie breaking handicap hole, thus leaving his team in third place.
