Flooding limits useable holes for seniors

On August 3rd water flooded many fairways. Therefore, the seniors played the top five holes that did not have standing water. These fairways were 10,11,12, 17 and 18. In today's format, match play was selected since teams were starting on different holes.  The match with the best score of the day was the team of Dennis Bruce, Turk Pilker and Morris Marcotte at 31. The next best match winners were Floyd Boschee, Jim Reed and Rex Huska with a 33. In the third match of the day, Jay Hennies, Ken Beringer and Lloyd Helseth turned in a 35 for their team victory.

In the recording of long birdie putts for this session, Jim Reed made the longest putt on #18 dropping a 33-footer. Morris Marcotte made a 30-foot birdie on #11 to give his team a one-stroke victory. Dave Zimmer sank a 25-foot birdie on #10. Much of the golf course still looks like a fishing lake on this date due to earlier rains.
