Local athletes compete in Omaha Triathlon

Glen Cunningham State Park was the site of the inaugural Omaha Triathlon. The race was held on Aug.1, with two Vermillion residents competing. Randy Rasmussen place 13th in a time of 2:23:35 and Max Grandi was 325th in 3:37:16. Samuel Holmes of Estes Park, CO was the winner in a time of 2:10:08.

The Olympic distance event was a 1.5K swim, 40K bike ride and 10K run. There were 420 individuals and 40 teams that competed in the race.
