Ed Johnson, a Vermillion resident and one of South Dakota's favorite musicians for more than 30 years, suffered a debilitating stroke early this summer. Friends, fans and musicians will gather for a benefit night to help Ed's family with medical expenses this Saturday, Sept. 18 at Latitude 44, 8th & Weber downtown Sioux Falls.
The benefit concert and event will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight. Admission is a free-will offering. Performers are area musicians that have played with Ed over the years and the talent that Ed has introduced as host of his popular Open Mic nights in Vermillion and Sioux Falls.
Featured Acts: Mike Conner Keven Vermillion, Bob Shaw with Voices in the Forest, Kicking Analog, The Carolina Bluesman, Little Pink Anderson and many others. There will also be a fundraising raffle – the grand prize: A new Ovation acoustic/electric guitar, valued at over $1,500, courtesy of Sioux Falls Music.
