Glennys A. Robbins, 80, of Elk Point, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at the Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point.
Glennys Bensen was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Vermillion, to Nels and Amanda (Hansen) Bensen. She attended Vermillion schools and attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She married Doyle E. Robbins on Aug. 20, 1950, in Vermillion.
Glennys worked for the USD Law School as a Placement Officer from 1977 until she retired in October of 1991.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point, a past president Chapter A of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and a member of the ALCW.
Glennys is survived by her two daughters, Lorie (Joe) Robbins-Hembd of Sioux City, IA, and Dena (Doug )Robbins-Donnelly of Elk Point; a twin brother, Glen (Faye) Bensen of Chandler Heights, AZ; a brother, Don (Roberta) Bensen of Vermillion; two sisters, Emlyn Benson of Algona, IA and Shirley (Morris) Marcotte of Worthington, MN.
She is also survived by three sisters in law, Joyce Bensen, Lavonne Bensen and Twila Bensen; six grandchildren, Mary (Tom) DeBondt, Kristina (Gene) Ericson, Andrew Hembd, Beth (Ian) Hembd Ferguson, Molly Donnelly and Blake Donnelly; and four great grandchildren, Tyson Trobaugh, Kendra Ericson, Riley Ericson and Jackson DeBondt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle; infant brother, Lloyd; brothers, Amos, Darrel and Adrian; a sister in law, Peggy; and a brother in law, B.H. (Bud) Benson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point with burial in the Evergreen (Bergen) Cemetery in rural Meckling.
