Megan Dirks, 25, of Akron, IA, formerly of Iowa City, IA, passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at her parent's home in Akron following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. Monsignor Richard Zenk was celebrate. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation was after 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, with the family present after 5 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m. followed by a Parish Rosary, all at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron.
Visitation resumed one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.
