At the Harrisburg Invitational on Aug. 31, the Tanager boys golfers placed 12th as a team with a 366 score.
Mitch Nelson and Mitch Ellison with 88s led Vermillion. Carter Andre and Peter Haught had 95s, Zach McDonald 106 and Jay Munger 131. Dakota Valley, Sioux Falls Christian and Madison were the top three teams in the 17-school meet.
The Tanagers lost a dual at Yankton, 366-386, as the Bucks' Jace Guthmiller led all players with a medalist round of 77. Mitch Nelson of VHS was fifth with an 87. Other Vermillion scores were Andre's 97, McDonald's 99, Haught's 103, Ellison's 110 and Munger's 119.
In JV competition Yankton won 136-206. Tanager scores were Paul Schwasinger's 65, Trsitan Meadows' 66 and Sam Craig's 75.
The Tanagers host their own invitational at The Bluffs starting at 10 a.m. this morning (Friday). Then VHS plays at Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday.
