Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted medications during a National Prescription Drug Take-Back event being held in Vermillion Saturday.
The Vermillion Police Department will take part in the campaign being spearheaded by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The collection will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Vermillion Police Department, located at 15 Washington St.
The DEA makes clear that:
• the program is anonymous;
• prescription and over-the-counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules, are accepted;
• intravenous solutions, injectables and needles will not be accepted; and
• illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of the initiative.
