Vermillion tennis nets first win of season

Their first victory of the season, a 6-3 triumph over Rapid City Central, highlighted the Vermillion tennis team's trip to a triangular at Mitchell on Aug. 24.
The Tanagers also dropped an 8-1 decision to the host Kernels that day.
Valerie Robinson, Dylan Daniels and Sophie Van Den Hul all won singles matches against Central.  All three Vermillion doubles teams- – Robinson and Claire Jones, Lindsay Robinet and Dylan Daniels, and Van Den Hul and Abby Weiss – won their matches.  The Jones/Robinson duo earned Vermillion's point in the Mitchell loss.
Vermillion plays at Sioux Falls Roosevelt this afternoon and is home against Madison at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
