The editors of South Dakota Magazine have sampled plenty of unique foods in 25 years of exploring the state. They've been to bullhead feeds and lutefisk dinners, sampled kuchen and kolaches and visited pie baking contests and chili cook-offs. A feature exploring South Dakota's food culture appears in the September/October 2010 issue of South Dakota Magazine.
After the homecoming parade and football game at the University of South Dakota, revelers head to the Washington Street Art Center for an evening of spicy hot food and cool music. Chili Blues combines the best chili cooks in town with the top blues and jazz musicians to make a unique evening of food and entertainment.
