The Vermillion volleyball team will be home twice next week, hosting Wagner on Tuesday night and West Central on Thursday.
The Tanagers will spend this Saturday at Milbank's tournament as the season reaches the midway point on the long haul toward district time in early November.
Last week VHS dropped a 3-1 match at Sergeant Bluff-Luton. After the home team won 25-15 and 25-16, the Tanagers reached down for something extra and pulled out an exciting 25-23 win to get back into the match, but there was little left and SB-L won the fourth game, 25-9, to end the match.
On Saturday at Bon Homme's tournament the Tanagers lost three matches in pool play, starting with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wagner by scores of 25-10 and 25-13.
A match against Alcester-Hudson was as close as it could be – A-H won 25-23, VHS won 25-21 and A-H won 25-22 for a 2-1 verdict. Beresford then topped the Tanagers 2-0 on game scores of 25-19 and 25-19.
