Four members of Vermillion High's girls softball team were recognized this week when the All-State teams were announced.
Lizzy Bye, Jessica Finch, Carlee Sorensen and Sami Girard were named to the Class "A" All-State team for their play this season. The Tanagers had an undefeated regular season and went into the final day of the state tournament still unbeaten. They settled for state runners-up honors to champion Mitchell.
Bye and Finch were Vermillion's stalwart pitchers, and each played first base when she was not pitching. Sorensen played primarily second base, and Girard was the Tanager catcher.
