Patricia Coursey, 81, of Elk Point, formerly of Vermillion, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Wel-Life assisted living in Elk Point.
Patricia was born Feb. 22, 1929 in Chicago, IL to James and Anne (Huttemann) Coursey. She graduated from the Amundson High School in Chicago in 1947, and attended the Bryant and Stratton Business College in Chicago.
Pat worked as an associate director at the Elgin Mental Health Center in Elgin, IL, retiring in 1992.
She was a longtime volunteer at the Dakota Hospital in Vermillion and greatly enjoyed travel, visiting most of the states in Mexico, many European countries including Iceland, Japan and China.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Coursey Burton of Vermillion; and a brother, James Coursey of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews, Linda Burton (Bruce Cargin), Laura (Farrel) Christensen, Kathryn (William) Cover, Kathleen (Charles) Funk, and James (Alison) Coursey; and three great nieces and two great nephews.
Memorial services were 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25 at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Vermillion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Patricia's name. Online condolences and obituary: hansenfuneralhome.com.
