The first annual winter market of the Vermillion Area Farmers Market will begin Nov. 20 with a how-to-workshop about canning and preserving.
The Farmers Market will meet the third Saturday of each month from November through April in the Clay County Extension Building at 515 High Street.
Items that may be sold at the market include:
• Fruits and vegetables that store well, like onion, garlic, apples,
• Anything grown in a greenhouse or with other methods of season extension,
• honey, jams, jellies,
• preserved fruits and vegetables,
• baked goods,
• clothing and much more.
The free educational workshops will begin immediately following each month's market, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The first workshop on canning and preserving is for canners/preservers of all levels.
