Letter: Act of kindness

To the editor:

I sent my son down to Casey's to buy a pop for his school's Halloween party. I was pretty sure he had more than enough money to buy this with ($1.65). However, when he came home with his pop he told me he was a dime short when he went to pay for this.

As he pulled out all of the money that I gave him from his pocket, he told me that the man behind him paid for the full amount for his pop (instead of just the 10 cents that he was short). To this gentleman I say, "Thank you and God bless you."

This is just one of the many small reasons that I choose to live and raise my children in Vermillion.

PS: What ever happened to the 5 or 10 cent bottle of pop? I must be getting old.
