Every year in November, Fall Show occurs at the Vermillion High School.
Fall Show is in its seventh season. This is the first opportunity to see the talent of the 2010 Vermillion High School's show choirs as well as Vermillion Middle School's show choirs. You also get the opportunity to enjoy listening and watching high school as well as middle school students sing as well as dance solos and group numbers.
Fall Show is set for Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 starting at 7 p.m. on both evenings at the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center. The costis $5 for adults and $3 per student. Mark it on your calendar to come and enjoy an evening showcasing Vermillion's middle school and high school show choirs. Students have been preparing for Fall Show since the start of school. Everyone attending Fall Show will get a little sample of Rhythm in Red, Maganda Boses, and Music in Motion Show Choir competition shows.
Rhythm in Red is the varsity show choir of the Vermillion School District. Auditioned members range in age from freshman to senior and they are all members of the Vermillion High School concert choirs. They consist of 25 talented singers/dancers and six awesome pit bank members. Rhythm in Red Show Choir members rehearse on Monday evenings as well at Thursday mornings at 7 a.m. Rhythm in Red is under the direction of Trisha Fisher. Dances are choreographed by Heath Gemar, Ben Cahoy, Jayme Browner, Trisha Fisher as well as a variety of Rhythm in Red members. Rhythm in Red finished third runner up at the Washington High School Show Choir Invitational in March of 2010 as well as at the Mitchell High School Show Choir Invitational in April of 2010.
Maganda Boses is new to Vermillion High School this year. The women all auditioned last spring to be one of the first members in Vermillion High School's Prep Show Choir. The group consists of 14 members. This group is under the direction of Trisha Fisher with Teri Bellis helping with the choreography, staging and helping at many of the practices.Music in Motion is one of Vermillion Middle School's show choirs. Non-auditioned students from seventh and eighth grade comprise its 42 members. Members rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Music in Motion is under the direction of Kristin Schmelling. In February of 2010, Music in Motion placed third at the Pella, IA Show Choir Invitational and in April of 2010, Music in Motion placed second at the Mitchell Show Choir Invitational.Princeton Street Swingers is another Vermillion Middle School Show Choir. It is also a non-auditioned show choir for sixth grade students, which consists of approximately 25 members this year.
Princeton Street Swingers is also under the direction of Kristin Schmelling.Come and enjoy a musical experience on Nov. 19 and 20 at the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center. Competitions for Rhythm in Red start in January at UNL in Lincoln, NE. Rhythm in Red will also be traveling to other competitions in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. The third annual Vermillion Show Choir Invitational will be on Saturday, Feb. 26.
