The Siouxland Community Foundation is accepting applications for the 2011 Fund for Siouxland grant program with an application deadline of Jan. 15.
Grants generally do not exceed $5,000. Because only the income from this endowed fund is used for grants, the Fund for Siouxland provides a permanent source of charitable support to respond to present and emerging community needs in the areas of arts & culture, civic affairs, education, health, and human services.
Fund for Siouxland grants are awarded only to nonprofit organizations and units of government within a 50-mile radius of Sioux City, Iowa, which are defined as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
If the applicant is not a 501(c)(3), a Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement form must be completed and signed by the sponsoring 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Generally, the Foundation will not consider grants for religious purposes, political activities, individuals, endowment, general operating expenses, elimination of budget deficit, annual fund drives or capital campaigns.
