Amber Walker and Alex Card were selected as the October VHS Students of the Month.
First Bank & Trust will award these two seniors with $100 scholarships to the college of their choice.
Walker "is a bright, articulate student who is a pleasure to have in class," according to her faculty recommendation.
"She is conscientious and comes to class prepared and ready to learn."
She intends to continue her education at the University of South Dakota with a major in dental hygiene.
Her high school activities included gymnastics, National Honor Society and the Dance Inferno. She was a Girls State delegate and has helped with the Missouri River Clean Up. Her parents are Rich and Brenda Walker.
Card has an abundance of extra curricular activities such as Show Choir, German Club, Concert Band, cross country, and National Honor Society. He has had several roles in dance productions and has been an active Boy Scout. His parents are Karen and Michael Card.
His faculty nomination noted that Card "is an outstanding young man and a stellar student." His college plans are to attend the University of North Dakota to pursue a degree in air traffic control and airline management.
