The Vermillion Community Gardens signup for garden plots begins at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 in the upper level of the Washington Street Art Center at the corner of Cedar and Washington Streets (202 Washington). New and beginning gardeners are encouraged to attend.
A short tour of the gardens and tool shed (behind the Art Center) will take place, and all persons interested in signing up for a plot can obtain the information and documents needed. In addition, gardeners can get free garden seed in the seed exchange. A short education session will explain the cool season vegetables that can be planted now for eating in April and May.
Norma Wilson will present the Art Councils proposal for an Art Park around the gardens. All members of the public are invited to this free event. For further information, contact Coordinator Nick Koster (605-659-4861), or Dean Spader (605-624-6831).
