Douglas Stuart Richardson, 32, of Vermillion, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident near Vermillion.
Douglas was born Nov. 5, 1978 in Akron, IA to Allan and Sue (Petersen) Richardson. He graduated from Vermillion High School in 1997. Doug was currently employed by the Ford Garage.
Doug had a love for racing and working on cars in the garage with his Dad. His pride and joy was his pickup.
Dougie Snoop was always willing to lend a helping hand. He liked to call and chat with friends and family often. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his parents Al and Sue; two brothers, Mike and wife Amy, Bob and fianc Erin; one sister, Tabatha and husband Nate; special friend, Janna Kroupa and her children Kayden and Jarrett; grandparents, Doug and Millie Brown; seven nieces and nephews, Jordan, MaKenzie, Jordan, Ashton, Dain, Greyson and Isabell; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends he loved.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma Dorothy Richardson and Bob Stuart; Grandpa Melvin Richardson, Grandpa James Petersen, Uncle Mike Johnson and his great-grandparents.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Vermillion. Burial followed in Bluffview Cemetery, Vermillion.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the church.
