Andrew McCann and Hannah Ford were recognized as the Vermillion High School Students of the Month for February. This recognition is for their efforts in their academics as well as their efforts in extra-curricular activities. First Bank & Trust-Vermillion will provide a $100 to each of them for their efforts.
McCann "has helped with many projects, most recently a bullying prevention presentation for the middle school students," according to his faculty recommendation. "I can count on him for compassionate leadership." He plans to attend college for Engineering.
McCann's activities include baseball, Show Choir, SADD, Natural Helpers, and football. He attended Boys State and he is a Eagle Scout. His parents are Tate and Kristy McCann.
Ford has been involved with high school plays, choir and oral interpretation. She has received performance awards at one-act play festivals and she was selected to the All-State Choir. Her parents are Steve and Pam Ford.
Fords college plans are to major in Music Theatre and minor in Spanish. Her
faculty endorsement related that "she was very organized, dependable and independent. It was a pleasure having her in class."
